Заступник міністра закордонних справ Росії Андрій Руденко прийняв копії вірчих грамот у новопризначеного посла Афганістану в РФ Гуль Хасана. Про це йдеться у повідомленні МЗС РФ.
Таким чином, Росія першою у світі офіційно визнала Ісламський Емірат Афганістан, очолюваний рухом «Талібан», який вважається в багатьох країнах терористичною організацією.
У Росії «Талібан» також тривалий час був заборонений, проте у грудні 2024 року Держдума ухвалила закон, який дозволяє виключити «Талібан» зі списку терористичних організацій. 17 квітня Верховний суд РФ скасував заборону діяльності «Талібану» в Росії.
На будівлі афганського посольства в Москві вивішено запроваджений талібами державний прапор Афганістану.
У четвер посол Росії в Кабулі Дмитро Жирнов відвідав виконувача обов’язків міністра закордонних справ Афганістану Аміру Хану Муттакі. Під час зустрічі Жирнов передав рішення російського уряду про офіційне визнання Ісламського Емірату Афганістаном.
У 2021 році «Талібан» через 20 років після свого усунення від влади знову взяв під контроль Афганістан, скинувши лояльний США уряд президента Ашрафа Гані. Таліби в Афганістані запровадили норми шаріату, практикуються громадські страти. Надходять повідомлення про масові порушення прав людини, насамперед жінок, яким уряд талібів заборонив здобувати освіту, окрім молодшої школи, з’являтися в громадських місцях без супроводу родичів-чоловіків та говорити вголос на публіці. Різко обмежені права жінок працювати. Політична та громадянська активність, яка не збігається з політикою «Талібану», переслідується.
Уряд талібів не визнаний на міжнародній арені, проте фактично більшість країн світу тією чи іншою мірою ведуть із ним справи.
